Ilfracombe Coast u3a is a friendly, volunteer‑run community for people in their “third age” — the stage of life after full‑time employment. We help members socialise, learn new skills, and enjoy a wide range of interest groups across Woolacombe, Mortehoe, Lee Bay, Ilfracombe, Berrynarbor and Combe Martin.
Who can join?
Anyone who is retired or semi‑retired is welcome. You might be new to the area, recently retired, or simply looking for new interests — everyone in their third age can join.
How much does membership cost?
Membership is £12 per year, renewed each January.

Interest Groups are the heart of our u3a — friendly, informal, and run by members.
What are Interest Groups?
Interest Groups are small, member‑led sessions covering hobbies, learning, and social activities. They help you stay active, make friends, and keep your brain ticking over. You can browse all groups on our website.
Can I try a group before joining?
Yes — you’re welcome to visit a group once as a guest. After that, you’ll need to become a member.
How do I join Ilfracombe Coast u3a?
Joining is simple:
